The Newest Soccer Mom on the block

So we took the plung last night and bought..... yes.... a minivan. Who knew I would be so excited! It's so nice. Not that what we had before wasn't but this has so much more room and just fits our family perfectly. My mom kindly reminded me last night that 3 or so years ago I was saying that I would never own a minivan and here I am the very proud owner of a 2007 Toyota Sienna. It's very nice. We closed the car lot down but they didn't seem to mind. Now, not that we can afford to anymore ha ha ha), we can do some big time Costco shopping and not worry about checking our cart before we go to the checkout to make sure we have enough room. So I am offically part of the minivan drivin' soccer mom club.

I know it's been a long time so...

Here are some updates...

Kylie is LOVING her new daycare. She loves it so much she screams almost everyday when we leave. Maybe that's because Denise give her a 1/2 of M&M when she leaves and she wants more... I don't know :)

She is becoming the master walker and her favorite thing to do is say "hi" to you back and forth. It's super cute! We can't believe how fast she is growing up. She will be 11 months old on Sunday. YIKES only a few more weeks and we will have a one year old! Time flies when your having fun I guess.

We are getting ready for halloween and can't wait to take Kylie out trick or treating in her cute Kitty costume. Pictures to come later :)

Other than that we are just trying to stay on some sort of schedule during an extremely busy work season (thanks to political on my side and college students moving back to town on Steve's side). I will try to keep this more updated. Key word: TRY.... I will do my best :)

Kylie's Ultrasound

So I have to laugh about it now and enjoy the fact that I was able to have a day off with my family but the ultrasound tech did all she could to hold back the laughing when we told her we were there because of uneven fat rolls on Kylie's legs. Yes you heard me... the poor girl has uneven fat rolls on her legs and for that had a very long 15 mintues this morning being held down for an ultrasound to check her hips for hip dysplasia (spelling?). We are very happy that everything looked perfect but we already knew that :)
On to the next hurdle :) I know there will be more :)

One small step for...

Yep Kylie took her first steps last Wednesday! Such a big girl. I was able to get this little clip Thursday morning so you'll have to excuse the mess of toys, her hair and the fact that I turned the camera 1/2 way through... Here we go...

Kylie did so well on our trip! She had so much fun and got totally spoiled while we were there. I'll have to take a picture of her with her special present from Great Uncle Tom... her Comfort Creature and matching blanket :) She loves them!

Here is an update...

Kylie started her new daycare this week and LOVES it! I am so relieved that she is finally comfortable! She has made lots of new friends and loves hanging out with her buddy Connor. She is working on her climbing skills which has forced us to take one thing in particular away from her...

Needless to say we have done some major babyproofing to stop her from tearing the house apart :)

In about a week and a half we are going to take her to the big city (Seattle) to meet her Great Aunt Jenny and see her Auntie Marianne and maybe some other people :) I'll post pics when we get back. Other than that not much going on here. Kylie is growing faster than we can believe...8 months old already!

Quick Update...

So I'm not doing very well at updating this...
Our little munchkin (Steve's nickname for her lately) has become a very fast crawler! Last week she figured out how to not only get up onto her knees but she learned how to pull herself up... as of the past couple days she has gotten a bit braver and has been letting go with one hand to reach for a toy (or whatever catches her eye). Needless to say... she has kept us on our toes. We are't used to it yet and I have a feeling it's not going to be long before she is walking. YIKES! I will try to update with new pictures soon.

I heard about this story through another blog and it has touched my life so very deeply! We can get so caught up in life that we forget how quickly it (life) can be taken away. I have been following this blog for about a month now and read it everyday. I swore that I would never take any baby I had for granted after going through the horrible loss of our first baby but I got caught up in life and ended up doing it. I took it for granted that I was healthy and that Kylie was healthy and that we were a happy little family. I will NEVER do that again after following this blog. I just thought I would share it with you all if you care to look. Life is such a gift. Always kiss your babies goodnight and tell everyone you love that you love them. You never know what tomorrow holds.

Update...

Kylie is mastering the art of crawling. Tonight is one of those night when I wished I had a video camera... she crawled to get my keys (we were trying to encourage her so my parents could see her in action)... She was playing with a toy (chewing on it actually) and instead of leaving that toy behind for the keys she bit down and carried it in her mouth while she crawled after my keys. It was the funniest thing I've ever seen. Too cute!

YIKES! We need to baby-proof!

This is Kylie's newest trick! We were eating dinner at my parents house on yesterday and she finally figured it out... kind of... it won't be long now until she is a pro! I guess I better get the breakables put away! FAST!

Kylie's first trip to the park!

And she loved it. We met Melissa, Dave, Andrew and Ellie Johnson there on Saturday afternoon and Kylie got to swing her heart out! She loved being in the swing as you can tell from the pictures! We can't wait for another nice day to go back to the park!

The doctor says she's PERFECT!

So Kylie had her 6 month baby well check up today and she is PERFECT! Not a surprise to us but we are bias. She weighed in at a whoppin' 17lbs 13oz and she is 27inches tall! Those put her in the 86% for height and 80% for weight. She got the go ahead to move onto table food (as long as we stay away from meats for now). She screamed when she got her 3 shots but once she was in mommy's ares she was good to go again.

Silly Girl

Last Sunday we had Kylie's picture taken and she wouldn't smile big for the lady but look at what she did when we got home. Little turkey! She smiles for the ones we don't have to pay for.

Who needs all those toys anyway?

Who needs a living room full of toys when you can play with a bag? Kylie could have cared less about all the toys around her... she wanted to hear the bag crinkle! Crazy girl!

We bought a new camera a month or so ago and we are still trying to learn all the fun features on it. Kylie loves to pose for the camera (unless we are paying someone to take pictures then she chooses to not smile at all... go figure).

Hi everyone... I'm trying this for the first time so bear with me. Hopefully I will be able to keep up with this. Kylie has been keeping us very busy! Between teething and trying to crawl there hasn't been much "down time" around our house. We just had her picture taken yesterday so as soon as those come in I will post them.
